Waikato Regional Coastal Plan
This Waikato Regional Coastal Plan was adopted by Council in July 2004, excluding the proposed Marine Farming and Marinas variations. It incorporates changes made as a result of variations to the proposed Coastal Plan, Environment Court decisions, and minor amendments, in addition to changes required by the Minister of Conservation.
The Marine Farming Variation was adopted in part by Council in December 2005, incorporating changes made as a result of Environment Court decisions, minor amendments, and changes required by the Minister of Conservation.
The Marinas Variation was adopted by Council in February 2006 and approved by the Minister of Conservation in Accordance with clause 19 of the First Schedule of the Resource Management Act 1991 in June 2007.
The provisions relating to Marine Farming that are still subject to an Environment Court appeal, and are therefore not operative and are subject to change, are listed in the table below and are shown within the Plan in annotated green text.
